Empowering the Social Care Sector: Inside Reconstruct Children and Adult Services Ltd
At Reconstruct Children and Adult Services Ltd, our mission is simple yet powerful: to support children, young people, adults, families, and professionals within the social care and education sectors to improve outcomes for vulnerable individuals.
With more than 30 years of experience, we offer specialist services that build on the strengths of the social care and education sectors, working alongside professionals to support and empower, not take over.
While we do not provide residential care directly, we are a trusted, expert partner for local authorities, social workers, and agencies across the UK. Through our consultancy, training, advocacy, social care recruitment, and regulatory support, we help transform lives from within the system.
Who We Are
Reconstruct is a multidisciplinary team of social care professionals, trainers, consultants, independent visitors, and advocates with extensive frontline experience. Founded in 1990, we have evolved to meet the changing needs of children’s and adult services while always keeping our core values at heart: integrity, inclusion, empowerment, and continuous improvement.
We’re passionate about supporting professionals and services that protect, uplift, and empower people, especially children and vulnerable adults, by providing the tools, knowledge, and support they need to make meaningful, lasting change.
What We Do
Our services span across key areas of children’s services, adult services, and education, all connected by a shared focus on excellence in safeguarding, care, and service improvement.
1. Training and Professional Development
We offer sector-leading training for practitioners in children’s, young people, and adult social care. From safeguarding and trauma-informed practice to leadership development and Reg 44 responsibilities, our courses are rooted in real-world experience. Delivery is flexible via open courses, in-house delivery, or tailored commissioned packages.
2. Child Protection and Safeguarding Consultancy
Local authorities and care providers rely on us to strengthen their safeguarding frameworks. Our consultancy includes independent Reg 44 visits, audits, and strategic planning to support safe, compliant, and person-centred practice for both children and adults.
3. Independent Investigations and Reviews
Our experienced team conducts impartial investigations and reviews, including serious case reviews and safeguarding incidents. With a clear understanding of the legal and ethical landscape in social care, we bring professionalism and sensitivity to every review.
4. Advocacy and Voice of the Child Services
Ensuring young people are heard is central to our approach. Our advocacy services support children and young people to express their views, understand their rights, and participate meaningfully in decisions about their lives.
5. Independent Visitors
We provide high-quality Independent Visitor services for children and young people in care. These long-term, consistent relationships offer emotional support and trusted companionship, especially for those with limited family contact or who are placed out of area.
6. Supervision and Reflective Practice
Supporting professionals to grow and thrive is essential. Our reflective supervision services provide a safe space for staff across children’s and adult services to manage risk, maintain well-being, and stay grounded in values-led practice.
7. Recruitment and Interim Management
Through our specialist social care recruitment service, we help local authorities and service providers find the right people. From sourcing experienced interim managers to placing skilled social care professionals, we match people and placements with precision - because getting the right fit changes everything.
Our Impact
We work alongside councils, charities, NHS trusts, schools, and care providers across the UK. Our work consistently helps improve outcomes, reduce risk, and safeguard the well-being of children, young people, and adults. Feedback regularly highlights our expertise, professionalism, and ability to deliver positive change even in the most complex of circumstances.
