Working with Difficult, Dangerous and Evasive People - designed for Multi-agency partners but practitioners from a range of agencies are welcome to attend this course.

An important course for people who may have to deal with frightening and anxiety-provoking situations. This course has been delivered for many years by Reconstruct and is our most popular course.

Description Price

A Level 3 course raising awareness and exploring the issues relating to Child Sexual Abuse.

The course covers prevalence of child sexual abuse, appropriate/inappropriate sexual behaviours for different age groups, and has brief sections on forced marriage, female genital mutilation and child sexual exploitation.

We provide participants with research and practice-based information that will help them to effectively identify the sexual abuse of children and young people.

The course is aimed at staff who have previously attended Multi-Agency Child Protection training. The course aims to give you a deeper understanding of the impact of sexual abuse on children and young people growing up.

Description Price

Parental mental ill health was a significant factor in 40% of Serious Case Reviews and this course explores values and attitudes, identification and working together, and helps you understand the experience and voice of children and young people. It will conclude with an emphasis on analysis and joint planning for effective intervention with these families.

The course is aimed at staff who have previously attended Multi-Agency Child Protection training, but no specialist knowledge of mental illness is required. The course aims to give you a deeper understanding of the impact of parental mental ill health on children and young people growing up.

This 1 day course is aimed at social workers and social care professionals who are involved in initiating safeguarding enquiries.

The course will enable delegates to understand what the thresholds are for completing enquiries. It will also support the delegate’s confidence and understanding of what good looks like when completing enquires in order to reduce risk to potentially vulnerable adults.

To learn about safeguarding enquiries and the legislation that supports enquiries. To learn about specific safeguarding themes that staff undertaking safeguarding enquiries may be involved in. Under the Liberty Protection Safeguards framework the role and responsibilities of health professionals, social care professionals and care home managers is changing.

Our half day workshops will provide an opportunity to understand what the changes will mean for you and how to prepare for them:

  • Review the current mechanisms for authorising a deprivation of liberty, and your role in this;
  • Understand what the key differences are between current mechanisms and the Liberty Protection Safeguards, and what the changes will mean for you;

What to expect from open and virtual open training

Open training

Open courses are available to anyone and can provide a valuable opportunity to share learning and network.

All training is delivered by our experienced Reconstruct trainers at venues across England and provides an interactive learning experience using a range of teaching methods, including group work, role play, open discussion, videos and case studies.

Virtual open training

Just like our standard open courses, our open virtual courses are available to anyone and are delivered by our experienced Reconstruct trainers. 

Participant numbers will be capped at 15 to ensure an effective and interactive learning environment.

In the same way as face to face training allows for group work, open discussion and the sharing of videos and case studies so does our virtual training classroom.

All delegates will receive an electronic certificate from Reconstruct when the training has been completed.
