This course provides participants with the opportunity
to explore the therapeutic processes involved when
undertaking life story work. It covers a variety of
techniques for communicating with children and considers
how to identify and work with issues of loss and
separation, moving on and making new relationships.
Learning outcomes cover:
- Different ways and means to undertake life story
work and adapt it to the needs of individual children.
- The issues of memory and identity.
- How to work sensitively with children who have
experienced change, loss, sadness and rejection.
- How to integrate these techniques into practical work.
