Ruby ParryRuby Parry is a former Head of Children’s Social Care Services, highly skilled and experienced at all levels of operational and strategic management and service delivery, having worked in Children’s Services for more than 30 years, 14 of these being in management, and from 2003-2010 at Assistant Director level in both a small Unitary and a large County Council. Ruby qualified as a social worker in 1979, with a BSc Honors Degree in Sociology, and later gained an MSc in Management in 2003, with a distinction for her work on collaborative working in the public sector. She also holds a certificate in Staff Training and Development. Ruby has managed and developed a wide range of services for children, including duty and assessment teams, children in need/ child protection and court teams, fostering and family placement, adoption, looked after children teams, residential services, and leaving care services. She is a skilled communicator, trainer, and highly experienced and effective chair, including a range of multi-agency partnerships such as ACPC, LSCBs, Serious Case Review Panels, CAMHS, Teenage Pregnancy Board, Domestic Violence Forums, Fostering Panel, Child Protection conferences, and complex strategy meetings, and was Agency decision maker for Adoption and permanency whilst Assistant Director . She has also run several large scale joint child abuse investigations with the police and health, across local area boundaries, and co-wrote and implemented some of the first policies, procedures and training for the investigation and management of child sexual abuse post Cleveland. Central to all of this is a driving commitment to, and passion for, improving the lives of children and young people, and ensuring their engagement and voice in every aspect of service development and delivery.
