Christina Enright
Christina Enright gained 20 years experience as a nurse in the NHS, working in both acute settings; Accident and Emergency and Primary Care. She spent five years with NHS Direct as a nurse advisor and Mental Health project lead where she delivered a training programme for telephone mental health risk assessment to Nurses, as well as setting up a clinical reflective practice programme for the service in South London.
Keen to pursue her special interest in Psychology Christina returned to academia to read Psychology at Greenwich University, going on to complete a year’s family therapy training at the Institute of Psychiatry, before deciding that she wanted to work with the most vulnerable children in society. This inspired her to undertake an MSc in Integrative Child Psychotherapy, for which she was awarded a distinction.
Christina has over eight years experience working with traumatised children and adolescents in a variety of settings. Her clinical development and psychotherapy experience has provided her with unique experience of working with the most traumatised and marginalised children, young people and their families. She works very closely with the staff teams in the assessment and monitoring of cases to guide staff on the emotional support and interventions required to address the difficulties traumatised children and young people present.
Christina has a special interest in trauma and attachment; in particular how complex trauma impacts on the global development of the child and its manifestations through presenting behaviour. She is also committed to the development of models of training and intervention to more effectively address the pervasive difficulties that traumatised children and young present.
