Jane Robson qualified as a social worker at Royal Holloway College, University of London in 1993. Prior to that she worked unqualified for 4 years in residential care firstly with children aged 0-18yrs.
As a social work practitioner and manager, Jane was part of the team that piloted the Assessment Framework and over the years she has presented assessments & careplans to court about complex child care issues. Many of these involved the parenting capacity of individuals assessed to be experiencing mental illness, substance misuse and learning disability.
In her current role in statutory social work, Jane chairs Child Protection Case Conferences , Statutory Reviews for children in public care and complex Child Protection Strategy Meetings. She is the Local Authority Representative for the Multi Agency Public Protection Panel and takes responsibility for all the serious case reviews in the department. With other colleagues she has delivered interagency training in, amongst other things, child protection, risk assessments, corporate parenting and working with Looked After Children.
