Jim Wild

Jim Wild is a trainer, academic, activist and organiser in the context of safeguarding work, masculinities and values in social care. Jim worked on the frontline in child protection for 15 years as a practitioner and manager. He was convenor of the first unit on critical studies in men and masculinities and course leader for the diploma in applied studies in working with men at Nottingham Trent University. Jim is editor of ‘Working with Men for Change’ (Routledge: 2002) and ‘The Value-Base of Social Work and Social Care’ (Open University Press: 2008). He has been an academic and trainer in safeguarding work and working with men for the past 10 years. His forthcoming publication; ‘Child Protection and Safeguarding: Practice, Politics, Activism and Emancipatory Frameworks’  will be available in September 2010 with Open University Press.
