Gordon Jelley is a qualified social worker and principally employed as the Senior Training and Development officer in Children & Young People Services in a local authority. Originally from Ireland, he has worked as a home carer, a residential worker with children with learning difficulties, a children’s social worker and a specialist practice teacher over the last 18 years. He has over 12 years experience of social work with children and young people in statutory settings in London and Yorkshire.
His particular area of interest is in how theory and research can support analysis and decision making in social work practice.
He is an associate lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University on their social work degree programme and an associate of Reconstruct.
